Daurian redstart：ジョウビタキ

 It is found in Manchuria, southeastern Russia, northeastern Mongolia, central China, and Korea.

It is migratory; P. a. aureus winters in Korea, Japan, southeast coastal China, and Taiwan, and P. a. leucopterus in northeast India and parts of Southeast Asia.

Daurian redstarts favor open forests, forest edges, agricultural margins, and are also commonly found in parks and urban gardens. They are reasonably confiding and often allow humans to approach quite closely before moving off. It breeds in the summer months, with a mated pair of the nominate subspecies having been encountered in early May. （Reference cited　Wikipedeia）

Siberian ruby throat,ノゴマ

When late September comes, I can't wait for Siberian rubythroat arrival here as usual. And I began to start to check their arrival from September 25, over two hours in a day.

On September 18, I confirmed one bird that slinks around through the leafy trees, but I was not able to get in the image.

On October 24, finally,  I have taken some images of this year's Siberian rubythroat.

It was only 30 seconds appearance, but I was able to take a picture of the Siberian rubythroat also this year, and was a happy end.

Hunting practice or hunting failure?

I came across this scene at the pond on the way usual walking path.

A juvenile goshawk born in the forest of a golf club 2 km apart from here, the other day rushed into the flock of green-winged teal in a pond, but let the flock getaway

After that, it can't be helped, the juvenile pounced a night heron near being on the shore.

This doesn't look like serious hunting.

The juvenile catches the night heron's head with its claws and submerges it in water to suffocate it.

It seems to look like the night heron was stronger than the juvenile goshawk. 

The juvenile seems to have given up on capture.

Fireworks under covid-19

 Only 8 minutes firework hold by Toride city:

For commemorating the 50th anniversary of the enforcement of the city system and the end of the corona infection.

In the metropolitan area, the fireworks display has not been held for the past two years as a countermeasure against corona infection.

Even if it is done, under closed information and short time fireworks so that people do not gather.

 

 What's going on in Japan, where the temperature is still close to 30 degrees Celsius.

I can't still  observe Siberian rubythroat which comes over every year here and stays for 2-3 days.

It's still summer

Chiba Prefecture, where I live, If it is an average year has already become autumn. However hot days with temperatures of  25 ° celsius or more every day have been continuing.

Therefore, I can't find the autumn bird.

Is it because it's still hot?

Incidentally, today’s temperature is 30°celsius.

Temperature in the Kanto region to the north in Japan has went down rapidly from Sept. first and it seems to have look like begin to start autumn. So,I'm looking forward to come winter migrate birds.
