Hydrangea,アジサイ
This is the first installment of a two-part series of this topic.

According to the Wikipedia Japanse,
It blooms from June to July and has a decorative flower with a largely white, blue, purple or red color. It is called "Gakuzaki" in gardening as this bordered the surrounding part of the inflorescence in the hydrangea.
The hydrangea, which changed from the Hydrangea macrophylla, and became all decorated flowers in a spherical shape, is called "Temari bloom." It is cultivated widely for the ornamental in Japan, Europe, and the United States, and a lot of varieties are produced.
The origin is Japan, and the one that the breed improved in Europe is called Seiyoazisai.
In addition, the species is a poisonous plant, it is necessary to care in handling when using as horticulture and cut flowers.

6月から7月にかけて開花し、白、青、紫または赤色のが大きく発達した装飾花をもつ。ガクアジサイではこれが花序の周辺部を縁取るように並び、園芸では「額咲き」と呼ばれる。ガクアジサイから変化し、花序が球形ですべて装飾花となったアジサイは、「手まり咲き」と呼ばれる。
日本、ヨーロッパ、アメリカなどで観賞用に広く栽培され、多くの品種が作り出されている。原産地は日本で、ヨーロッパで品種改良されたものはセイヨウアジサイと呼ばれる。
なお、本種は有毒植物であるため、園芸や切り花として利用する際には取り扱いに注意が必要である。
