A strange thing has happened to the ducks that migrated to the pond near my house this year. The male of Tufted duck and the male of Common pochard fall in love and began to ignore their females.

Is there a gay world in the world of wild birds too? I observed the scene for the first time.

But, I have no idea whether this action is true or not.

 At first, a couple of Tufted duck has seemed to be felt friendly each other.

Around the time when two or three days had passed since migrated, the male of Common pochard began to approach the male of Tufted duck, since then, the two males began to become extremely intimate.

Sometimes females of Tufted duck get into between the two males,

but after a while female will leave. But after a while female will leave. Then these two males are leaving to the direction where no female is.

今年も私の家の近くの池に渡ってきた鴨たちに不思議なことが起きてます。

キンクロハジロの雄とホシハジロの雄が恋に落ち、雌を無視するようになりました。

野鳥の世界にもゲイの世界があるのでしょうか？

こんな光景を初めて観察しました。でも、この行動が本当なのかどうかはわかりませんが。

最初は、タフテッドアヒルのカップルが互いに親しみを感じていたようです。

渡ってきて2-3日過ぎたころからホシハジロの雄がキンクロハジロの雄に近づき始め,

以来、 2羽のこの雄が極めて親密になり始めました。

時々キンクロハジロの雌が2羽の雄の間に割り込むのですが、しばらくすると雌が去ってゆきます。するとこの2羽の雄は雌のいない方向に去ってゆきます。

According to the Wikipedia,

In Japan, falcons habitats (resident birds) annually, and Falco peregrinus pealei migrates to overwintering as winter birds rarely.

It is said that the origin of the Japanese name of Hayabusa is Hayai Tsubasa.

That is to say,"Hayai,ハヤイ" means high speed in English, "Tsubasa,ツバサ" means, wings.

Also, Chinese character of" Hayabusa,ハヤブサ” is written as  "隼”.

日本国環境省のレッドリストでは絶滅寸前に分類されてます。
ウイキペディアによれば、

日本では亜種ハヤブサが周年生息（留鳥）し、冬季に亜種オオハヤブサが越冬のためまれに飛来する。

ハヤブサの日本名の由来は速い翼だと言われております。

すなわち、「Hayai、ハヤイ」は英語の高速を意味し、「Tsubasa,ツバサ」とは、翼を意味します。

また、「はやぶさ、ハヤブサ」の漢字は「隼」と書きます。

Overwintering number of Hen harrier to Japan is a few, therefore, a lot of photographers comes to at their overwintering destination to take these guys.

I have heard that even in the Kanto Plains, the largest plains of Japan, there are only two their overwintering places.

The other day, I went to take pictures to the overwintering destination of these guys, 50 km away from my house. It was the first time to see here that there was the group that came by minibus.

But, there was no satisfaction level because the object was not nearby.

In addition, speaking of the number of people who come to take wild bird photos, I remember that it is the Yodogawa riverbed of Osaka Prefecture where several Short-eared owls come every year. When it was aired on TV last year it reported that the number was 250 people.

日本へのハイイロチュウヒの越冬数は少ないので、この写真を撮りに多くのカメラマンが越冬地に来ます。

日本の最大の平野である関東平野でさえも、越冬地は2つしかないと聞いています。

先日、私の家から50キロ離れた、これらの越冬先に写真を撮りに行きました。

ここにマイクロバスで来ているのをはじめてみました。

しかし、目的物が近くに来ないので満足度はありませんでした。

ついでに、野鳥写真を撮りに来る人数と言えば、毎年数羽のコミミズクが飛来する大阪府の淀川河川敷であると記憶してます。昨年ＴＶで放映された時その人数は250人と報じてました。
