The brown-eared bulbul is common in a very large range that includes the
Russian Far East (including Sakhalin), northeastern China, the Korean
Peninsula, and Japan, south to Taiwan and the Babuyan and Batanes island chains
in the north of the Philippines. (Wikipedia)
The other day, a white bird found by a
friend who lives in the neighboring prefecture is a resident and wandering bird
in Japan, and it is a wild bird named Brown-eared bulbul in English.
This bird is grey-black and brown as the name suggests.
But, the first time I saw this white bird, I thought it was an albino.
However, if you look closely at the images taken, the eyes are red that
are characteristic of Albino are not red and the pupils are not transparent.
According to Wikipedia, whitening is said to be caused by recessive inheritance
and have a different inheritance from albino and differ in developmental
mechanisms and related pigments. a a normal one
