Pressed flower craft,Oshibana,押し花

日本では江戸時代に作家の滝沢馬琴が押し花帳を作っていたと言われており、当時は園芸が流行し、変化朝顔のコレクションとして、多くの人によって押し花帳が作られていたそうです。
戦後、押し花でデザインする手法が徐々に広がり、最近では押し花の絵画的な表現が普及し、その芸術性を追求する人も多くなりました。
加えて、湿度の高い日本では乾燥しにくいため、かえって押し花の技術が発達し、急速に普及していったと言えるでしょう。
