In Japan, it is seen in Honshu, Kyushu and Okinawa at the time of spring and autumn migration as a passage bird, but the number is small. There are also individuals that overwinter. Breed mainly in the region from the southern part of Russia to Central Asia, but also breeding locally in the northeastern part of China. In winter, it winter over central Africa to the south, India, Southeast Asia, Australia etc.

主にロシア南部から中央アジアにかけての地域で繁殖するが、中国東北部でも局地的に繁殖している。冬季はアフリカ中部から南部、インド、東南アジア、オーストラリア等に渡り越冬する。
