Typhoon
Hagibis called Typhoon 19 in Japan hit my wild birds spot where I had been
every day for watching and photographing, distance 700 meters from my house.
This spot
called "Tanaka-chosei-ike" which is a large scale pond of river flood
regulating and with 1,100 hectares. The name is pond, but it is actually almost
rice field.
This is so-called
in the national policy.
In Japan,
there are many ponds by the rivers called regulating pond.
This
Tanaka-chosei-ike has with the 440 meters length Tone River dike, about 3
meters lower than the normal dike, and when this rivers floods, the water
overtopping this low dike into the flood regulating pond.
This is to
prevent many towns from flood along the Tone River.
