The Little ringed plover are classified in LC in the IUCN category.
The Little ringed plover comes flying in migratory birds
in early summer in Japan and they breed on the
Honshu , Shikoku , Kyushu region.
A pairing little ringed plover also came to a parking
lot close to my house this year. Whether they nest here like last year of course. If
I think, a nursing home for elderly is going to be built in this parking lot,
so they seemed to abandon nest building.
A little ringed plover
stops suddenly after peculiar zigzag walk, and they begin to walk again. They
are repeating so many times these style.

Although
the name of this wild bird is called KOTIDORI in Japan, it is called TIDORIASHI
to get drunk and to walk unconsciously from how to walk along this wild bird
resembling it of a drunkard.
日本ではこの野鳥の名前はＫＯＴＩＤＯＲＩと呼ばれておりますが、この野鳥の歩き方が酔っ払いのそれと似ていることから、酔っぱらってふらふら歩くことをチドリ足といいます。
