Osprey

Are you actually attacking or just having fun?

Ospreys frequently perch on this walnut tree that is growing in the riverbed.

It seems to be a habitual practice to catch a fish, such as a mullet.

Even though there was a strong west wind blowing this morning, I saw an osprey perched on the usual tree. I immediately set up my camera and was focusing on the osprey when suddenly a bird of prey attacked it.

It happened in a moment and finished.

The distance to the target is 146 meters.

Osprey

  A pair of being flying

The osprey is the second most widely distributed raptor species, after the peregrine falcon, and is one of only six land birds with a cosmopolitan distribution. It is found in temperate and tropical regions of all continents, except Antarctica. ( Cited from Wikipedia)

Osprey had come fly for the first time in two weeks.
However, it went away without diving catch fish.
2週間ぶりに現れたのですが、餌の魚も獲れずに去ってゆきました。

Osprey,ミサゴ

The Osprey, who showed up here for the first time in two years, had been preying on Flathead gray mullet for five consecutive days, but these 10 days have not shown up. I have no idea the reason why.
2年ぶりに当地に現れたミサゴ、5日連続でボラを捕食していましたが、この10日間は姿を見せていません。理由はわかりません。
