Eurasian jay,カケス

The bird call of the European jay is inseparably linked with Japanese mystery drama with a cottage in the forest.

This bird call is a call that makes you feel like something is happening, and when it call there is always an incident in the drama.

Quoted from Wikipedia

Distributed from central to southern Eurasia in northern Africa. In Japan, resident birds that breed north from Kyushu and inhabit the north move to the south in winter. The number of individuals that move from year to year varies, which is thought to depend on the number of nuts they feed on (when the amount is small, they move in search of food).

Kingfisher with the Cherry Blossoms in a city park,公園のサクラカワセミ

Cherry blossoms here are now in full.

So I went to the park in the next city for the first time in a long time.

From April 2008 to April 2016, I had gone to take a picture of a kingfisher coming to the cherry tree in April when cherry blossoms bloom every year.

In the park for the first time in five years, at the same cherry tree in full bloom, a kingfisher has appeared a moment, as it expected like five years ago.

I will also upload kingfisher shots with a cherry blossom that I took in the past at the time of the full bloom of the same cherry tree.

The target is the cherry blossoms on the front.

Long-tailed tit or Long-tailed bushtit、エナガ

In early spring, the behavior of winding up the spider web thread, which is one of the nesting materials, with a beak and striving to make a nest is often seen in a suitable place (for example, cherry trees, willow trees). It is a little bird that does not stop action whenever every time. However, after hatching, it is often witnessed that chicks are targeted by crows.

According to Wikipedia,The long-tailed tit is globally widespread throughout temperate northern Europe and the Palearctic, into boreal Scandinavia and south into the Mediterranean zone. It inhabits deciduous and mixed woodland with a well-developed shrub layer, favoring edge habitats. It can also be found in scrub, heathland with scattered trees, bushes, and hedges, in farmland and riverine woodland, parks, and gardens. The bird's year-round diet of insects and social foraging bias habitat choice in winter towards deciduous woodland, typically of oak, ash, and locally sycamore species. For nesting, a strong preference is shown towards scrub areas. The nest is often built in thorny bushes less than 3 meters (10 feet) above the ground. Cited from Wikipedia described in English

Japanese-White-eye and Hikanzakura

First of all, zakura and sakura means cherry in English

This cherry tree, also called Taiwan cherry or Hizakura, is different from Higanzakura.

It is distributed in Taiwan, southern China, and Japan, and in Okinawa, it blooms around January. Unlike Kawazu cherry blossoms and Okame cherry blossoms, Hikanzakura has a dark red flower color and the petals do not fully open.

When it comes to blossoms, in addition to Japanese white-eye, Brown-eared Bulbuls come to consume nectar from this flower. ( Partial quote from Wikipedia)
