According to the Wikipedia Japanese,

The breeding ground is in northern North America and the northern Eurasia continent, and winter is moved from the southern United States continent to the northern part of South America, the Northern Africa continent, and the Eurasian continent Central and overwinter. They live in Europe for their anniversary. It is local, and the number of individuals is scarce though it flies as a winter bird for the wintering in the Japan.

ウイキペディアの日本文によれば、

繁殖地は北アメリカ大陸北部やユーラシア大陸北部で、冬季は北アメリカ大陸南部から南アメリカ大陸北部、アフリカ大陸北部、ユーラシア大陸中部に移動して越冬する。ヨーロッパでは周年生息する。

日本では越冬のために冬鳥として飛来するが、局地的であり、個体数はすくない。
