The birds at the 5th station of Mt.Fuji

Mt.Fuji, as you may know, is the highest, most beautiful mountain in Japan.

Okuniwa located at the 5th station of Mt.Fuji is a limited-season well-known wild bird spot.

This year too, I went there to take some of its pictures.

I will upload six kinds of birds that I took.

I got older so, this is the final visit to the 5th station of Mt.Fuji.

Villagers say that if you worship this rock, you will get along well with your spouse.

Oriental dollarbird

It is said that as it can hear the croaking sound that croaks "bu-pou-sou,bu-pou-sou" in the night, it became just so like the name.

So after that, until today, we are calling this bird Japanese name "bu-pou-sou"

In fact, it doesn't croak like that.

Oriental dollarbird who don't come to the Kanto area for breeding from southeast Asia almost.

The Kanto region where I live includes the capital Tokyo, but I don't know in the past Dollarbird came for breeding in this region.

Four of us, to take photos of these birds, went to Nagano Prefecture which is 200km away from our residence for the first time in one year.

Tenryu village in this Nagano prefecture is a well-known place for Oriental dollarbird breeding, The nest boxes have been supported by municipal nest one supplied for a long time.

So, they became come every year here for breeding.

According to Wikipedia,

The oriental dollarbird is found from Australia to Japan and India. It breeds in northern and eastern Australia between the months of September and April and winters in New Guinea and nearby islands. The birds prefer open wooded areas with hollow-bearing trees to build nests in.

You can see the chicks on TV live installed in the hotel.

A photographer’s exhibition

The Joban Line railway bridge, which straddles Abiko City where I live in Chiba prefecture and Toride City in Ibaraki Prefecture, has long been well known as a nesting site for common kestrels. You can see that several groups can be seen nesting on this railway bridge every year.

Fumio Ogawa, who lives in Toride city, is an amateur photographer who has been shooting wild birds and has been shooting the ecology of this kestrel for a long time.

This time with the support of Toride City, this private exhibition of wild birds has begun exhibit published.

The exhibition will be held for fourteen days.

I have never seen a scale exhibition of 100 images of wild birds in such a large facility by an individual amateur.

I was impressed!

The upload of the exhibition contents had been approved by Mr. Ogawa.

Fall on the river is a rare sight. we can"t Kestrel swims are rarely seen.
