Oriental dollarbird、ブッポウソウ

The Oriental dollarbird (Eurystomus Orientalis) is a bird of the roller family, so named because of the distinctive pale blue or white, coin-shaped spots on its wings. It can be found from Australia to Korea, Japan, and India. ( Cited from Wikipedia)

July 10-11 I visited Tenryu Village, Nagano Prefecture, which is one of the breeding grounds for this wild bird for the first time in two years.

Fortunately, despite the rainy season, it didn't rain for two days and I was able to take pictures of the parent birds raising their chick.

However, the distance of the target was far and I was dissatisfied.

All images installed this time on this blog were trimmed.  Since the distance to the nesting box is 45m, most of them were taken with 900mm / APS-C.

Heavy rain in the rainy season that caused devastating damage to various places that have 17 still missing in the country will be over soon.

Attention information by public organizations; Such as " don't approach the Oriental dollarbird"

The distance of the target nest box is 45m.
