Crested serpent eagle, and etc.カンムリワシほか
This is the third installment of the Okinawa prefecture
trip series.
As you may know, Japan is an island
nation lying off the east coast of Asia. It has the general shape of a crescent
and extends 3,000 km from tip to tip.
Iriomote and Ishigaki island in
Okinawa prefecture is located close to the westernmost point of Japan.
In Japan, fifteen bird species were
designated as the special national treasure that was including a Crested
serpent eagle.
Iriomote Island and
Ishigaki Island are known as the habitat of Crested serpent eagle which is
designated as a special national treasure species in Japan.
The population of
Crested serpent eagle is estimated at approximate 180 including both islands, according
to Wikipedia.

White-Breasted waterhen, and etc.シロハラクナ他

Iriomote island where is located southwest of Okinawa.

Blue rock thrush,Isohiyodori,イソヒヨドリ
Blue rock
thrush, As Japanese name isohiyodori, Blue rock thrush is a wild bird that I
sometimes see in my residential area, but in Japan, many of them are often seen
in the along rocks the seacoast of the Southwest Islands.
It is said that
the Japanese name of this wild bird was named after the name of Brown-eared
bulbul because it resembles the
Bulbul.And it inhabits almost of them along rocks the seacoast.
I will upload
an individual taken in the early morning of December 16 when I traveled to
Okinawa Prefecture about 1,560 km away from Tokyo.
